This week built upon our conversations the week before, moving from a discussion on the important things in our lives, to capturing the things we are proud of in our community. It's been a refreshing experience to spend a significant amount of time discussing the positive parts of this area. To reach Llanols del Pinal, a bus will take you down an unpaved, bumpy road where you'll find a small, dusty pueblo. Amidst small houses and shacks you'll pass the skeletons of cement walls, construction of houses begun but left unfinished. It's easy to see what is lacking here in resources and infrastructure, but if you focus too long on this you're at risk of completely missing what assets are in existence. Flanked by towering mountains, the landscape is dotted with farm land, boasting rows of cabbage, corn, and lettuce. The people here have deep roots - rich in culture, traditions, resourcefulness, and family bonds. The students specified things like the nature and mountains, their health clinic, schools, culture, food, water resources and the hard work of people in their community. Below are some of these things within the community that our group is proud of and why.

Puesto de Salud Gratuito
"Esta foto es de una clinica a dos cuadras de mi casa la verdad es muy bonita. Esta foto es importante para mi porque hay consultas gratis, medicina gratis, etc. La verdad yo me siento muy orgullosa por las personas que hicieron lo posible de construirla porque si hay una emergencia no es necsario ir a la ciudad y lo mas bueno es que esta en la comunidad donde vivo."
Free Health Clinic"This photo is from a clinic two blocks from house, and is very nice indeed. This photo is important to me because there are free health consultations, free medicine, etc. The truth is I'm very proud of the people who made it possible to construct it because if there is an emergency it's not necessary to go to the city and the best part is that it's in the community where I live."

Huesos de cristal
Esta fotografía es de mi hermana y estoy muy feliz por tener a mi hermana junta a todos nosotros y la quiero mucho por ser mi única hermana que tengo. Ella es una niña de huesos de cristal y ella es al ángel de toda mi familia. Esta fotografía es muy importante para mí porque se trata de mi hermana única y estoy orgullosa de ella por lo que esta. Ella puede leer y escribir y por lo mismo estoy muy orgullosa de ella a pesar de que es una niña de cristal y estoy muy feliz y muy orgullosa de ella. Esta fotografía es de mi familia la cual sin ellos yo no me sentiría tan contenta sin tener los a mi lado. Esta fotografía es importante para mí porque se trata de mi familia la cual ellos comparten momentos alegres conmigo y han estado momentos muy difíciles pero estoy muy orgullosa de mi familia y muy feliz con toda mi familia porque sin ellos no sé quién soy y gracias a ellos ha salido adelante
Brittle Bones
This photograph is of my sister and I am very happy to have my sister together with us and I love her very much for being the only sister I have. She is a girl of brittle bones and she is the angel of my family. The photograph is very important to me because it’s of my only sister and I’m proud for what she is. She can read and write and so I’m very proud of her despite that she’s brittle and I’m very happy and very proud of her. This photograph is of my family who without them I would be happy without them next to me. This photo is important to me because they share happy moments with me and there have been difficult times but I’m very proud of my family and very happy with them. Without them I don’t know who I am and am thankful for them that I can continue moving ahead.

"This photo is important to me because even for those parents who do not have the capacity to pay for a good school for their son or daughter, it's not important because now there is a school in our community with free services, even including the uniform."

This photograph is very important to me because I am proud of how they work hard and I like how concentrated they are in their work to earn bread to eat and I am really proud of these women."

"Esta
foto es de una pila. Es importante a mi
porque siempre cae agua. Aveces esta pila esta llena de agua, a veces no, pero
siempre esta callendo agua. La pila la limpian a veces con jabon le ponen
balbula las personas carrean agua cuando
no hay en sus casa porque a veces quitan el agua de las casas y tenemos que
carrear para tener un poco de agua siempre se va a los drenajes porque no se
junta en la pila y estoy orgullosa de esta pila porque siempre hay agua."
Water Jet
"This photo is of a sink. It is important to me because there is always water falling. Sometimes the sink is full of water, sometimes no, but always the water is falling. The sink is cleaned sometimes with soap. The put in a valve and the persons carry water when there is no water in their houses and we have to carry it to have a little water. Always it goes down the drain because it will not seal. I am proud of this sink because there is always water."

"Esta

porque nos ensenan muchas cosas importantes y nos dan refraccion y es gratis y siempre esta funcionando. La escuela tiene varias tablas y antes adentro de esa
escuela estaba el instituto del basico ahora es la misma escuela."

"This photo is of the school. It is important to me because it is a school where I studied in primary school. It's a school very good because they teach us many things important and give us a snack and it's free and it's always running. This school has various tables and before in this school was a middle school and now it's the same school."

fotografia es de maiz que en nuestra familia cosechamos para poder comer durante
varios dias y diferentes colores. Esta

maize es muy importante y cada color tiene significado que nuestros antepasados
nos han dejado ensenado que debemos valorar el maiz y que debemos ser agradecidos.

This photo is important because it's a place that our forefathers left us because before there wasn't water in the houses and they used this to survive and I feel proud because this is a place that helps many people in the community."
